On Sunday 4 and Monday 5 May, Latinists from all sections discovered the (monumental) traces left by the Roman occupation in the city of Trier: the Porta Nigra and its galleries, the amphitheatre and its underground passages, and also Caesar’s baths. In Trier’s Landesmuseum, the pupils and their teachers were able to admire the largest gold monetary treasure ever discovered (18.5kg), gigantic mosaics and funerary inscriptions that the pupils were invited to translate. The students stayed in a youth hostel on the banks of the Moselle after a 3-hour train journey. During the journey, S2DE Latinist MAEDA Seiichiro drew a sketch of the Roman city of Trier. All explanations and guides were given exclusively in German.<\/p>\n

Am Sonntag, dem 4. Mai, und Montag, dem 5. Mai, entdeckten die Lateinsch\u00fcler aller Jahrgangsstufen die (monumentalen) Spuren der r\u00f6mischen Besatzung in der Stadt Trier: die Porta Nigra und ihre Galerien, das Amphitheater und seine unterirdischen G\u00e4nge, aber auch die Kaiserthermen. Im Landesmuseum Trier konnten die Sch\u00fcler und ihre Lehrer den gr\u00f6\u00dften jemals gefundenen Goldschatz (18,5 kg), gigantische Mosaike sowie Grabinschriften bewundern, die die Sch\u00fcler \u00fcbersetzen durften. Nach einer dreist\u00fcndigen Zugfahrt \u00fcbernachteten die Sch\u00fcler in einer Jugendherberge am Ufer der Mosel. W\u00e4hrend der Fahrt fertigte der Lateinlehrer der S2DE, MAEDA Seiichiro, eine Skizze der r\u00f6mischen Stadt Trier an. Alle Erkl\u00e4rungen und F\u00fchrungen wurden ausschlie\u00dflich in deutscher Sprache abgehalten.<\/p>\n
