Les math\u00e9matiques \u00e0 l\u2019honneur pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00c0 l\u2019occasion de la semaine \u00ab Europe Day and United in Diversity Week \u00bb, le d\u00e9partement de math\u00e9matiques a propos\u00e9 plusieurs activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 mettre en lumi\u00e8re la richesse du patrimoine scientifique europ\u00e9en et la diversit\u00e9 culturelle qui fa\u00e7onne les math\u00e9matiques d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>\n

Des \u00e9l\u00e8ves de S2 ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie de posters consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 de grands math\u00e9maticiens europ\u00e9ens. Des classes de S4 et S5 se sont int\u00e9ress\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019origine des symboles math\u00e9matiques que nous utilisons tous les jours afin de mettre en lumi\u00e8re les racines europ\u00e9ennes (et extra-europ\u00e9ennes) de nombreux signes.<\/p>\n

Une belle mani\u00e8re de d\u00e9couvrir que les math\u00e9matiques se construisent \u00e0 travers les si\u00e8cles et les fronti\u00e8res.<\/p>\n

Dans une d\u00e9marche de transmission et de partage, des \u00e9l\u00e8ves de S2 et S3 ont anim\u00e9 des ateliers math\u00e9matiques dans leur langue 2 \u00e0 destination d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ves de primaire P3 ou d\u2019autres \u00e9l\u00e8ves de S2<\/p>\n

Ces initiatives illustrent parfaitement l\u2019esprit de cette semaine : partager, apprendre les uns des autres et reconna\u00eetre la diversit\u00e9 comme une richesse. Les math\u00e9matiques, langage universel, se sont ainsi r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9es un formidable outil de dialogue.<\/p>\n

Mathematics in the Spotlight to Celebrate Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the \u00ab\u00a0Europe Day and United in Diversity week\u00a0\u00bb, the mathematics department organized several activities highlighting the richness of Europe\u2019s scientific heritage and the cultural diversity that shapes mathematics today.<\/p>\n

S2 students created a series of posters dedicated to great European mathematicians. S4 and S5 classes explored the origins of the mathematical symbols we use every day, shedding light on the European (and non-European) roots of many familiar signs.<\/p>\n

A wonderful way to discover how mathematics has been built over centuries and across borders.<\/p>\n

In a spirit of sharing and transmission, S2 and S3 students also led maths workshops in their second language, presenting them to primary school pupils (P3) or other S2 classes.<\/p>\n

These initiatives perfectly reflect the spirit of the week: sharing, learning from one another, and recognising diversity as a strength. Mathematics, as a universal language, proved once again to be a powerful tool for dialogue.<\/p>\n

Mathematik im Mittelpunkt zur Feier Europas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anl\u00e4sslich der Woche \u201eEurope Day and United in Diversity week\u201c hat die Fachschaft Mathematik verschiedene Aktivit\u00e4ten angeboten, um den Reichtum des europ\u00e4ischen wissenschaftlichen Erbes und die kulturelle Vielfalt, die die Mathematik bis heute pr\u00e4gt, hervorzuheben.<\/p>\n

Die Sch\u00fclerinnen der S2 erstellten eine Posterreihe \u00fcber bedeutende europ\u00e4ische Mathematiker<\/em>innen. Die Klassen S4 und S5 besch\u00e4ftigten sich mit dem Ursprung mathematischer Symbole, die wir t\u00e4glich verwenden, und zeigten die europ\u00e4ischen (und au\u00dfereurop\u00e4ischen) Wurzeln vieler dieser Zeichen auf.<\/p>\n

Eine sch\u00f6ne M\u00f6glichkeit zu entdecken, wie sich die Mathematik \u00fcber Jahrhunderte und Grenzen hinweg entwickelt hat.<\/p>\n

Im Sinne des Teilens und Weitergebens f\u00fchrten Sch\u00fcler und Sch\u00fclerinnen der S2 und S3 Mathematik-Workshops in ihrer zweiten Sprache durch \u2013 entweder f\u00fcr Grundschulkinder (P3) oder f\u00fcr andere S2-Klassen.<\/p>\n

Diese Initiativen spiegeln den Geist dieser besonderen Woche perfekt wider: voneinander lernen, Vielfalt als Bereicherung sehen und gemeinsam wachsen. Die Mathematik \u2013 als universelle Sprache \u2013 erwies sich dabei einmal mehr als ein starkes Instrument des Dialogs.<\/p>\n
