An Educational Adviser for Secondary School to start on the 1st of September 2025 Full-time position (40h / week)

The European School of Karlsruhe offers education to approx. 1000 pupils, in three linguistic sections (DE, EN, FR), from 3-18 years. We require from 1st September 2025 an educational adviser who is enthusiastic to work in a stimulating international environment. Reporting to the Deputy Director Secondary and to the Assistant Deputy Director Secondary, he/she will be part of the educational advisers’ team responsible for assisting the Deputy Director Secondary, the Assistant Deputy Director Secondary and the secondary cycle teachers in pedagogical educational and administrative duties (General Rules of the European Schools, Ref. 2014-03-D-14-en-14, art. 27)

Profile
✓ Qualified (at least Bachelor level) with experience of working in a secondary school
✓ Very good communicational & organizational skills, structured work approach and the ability to prioritize tasks is essential
✓ Able to work well in a team, be positive, pupil-friendly and have a great deal of initiative.
✓ Good ICT skills (Word, Excel, Teams, Forms, O365, …)
✓ Very good knowledge of two of the following languages: English, German or French
✓ Experience in international / European schools would be an advantage

Summary of expected tasks (see attached document)
The work will involve a range of administrative, pedagogical and pastoral duties, examples of which are indicated below:
✓ Interconnecting with pupils, parents, teachers, the management, the administration
✓ Managing problems linked to school life including disciplinary issues
✓ Administrating data in the school’s administrative system
✓ Preparing class councils and students’ reports and organizing examinations and parents’ evenings
✓ Invigilating tests/examinations and supervising the school premises.
