Pedagogical Assistant for Learning Support (m/f/d) for the English section of the primary school (18.75 hours per week – part-time)
Job description
We are looking for a pedagogical assistant to support a child at the European School’s primary school.
Main duties:
- To assist the teacher in planning and supporting the pupil with special educational needs during classroom activities.
- To provide individual support to this pupil during lessons.
- To work closely with the support coordinator and the pupil’s teachers, maintaining a cooperative and respectful relationship.
- To maintain confidentiality.
- To attend meetings and school trips when requested by the headteacher.
- To attend professional development days and training sessions.
- To temporarily supervise the class when the teacher is unavailable.
- To carry out administrative tasks as required by the school.
Profile:
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- The candidate holds a qualification or degree equivalent to the role of teaching assistant for support measures within the national system and has experience of working with children with special needs.
- The candidate has a command of English at C2 level.
- Knowledge of other languages spoken at the European School is an advantage.
Offer:
- A fixed-term contract (until 31 August 2027) in accordance with the Staff Regulations of the Administrative and Service Staff of the European Schools.
