Dans le cadre du cours de français, les 19 élèves de S4 L2 et L3, accompagnés par Mme Le Gall et Mme L’Espérance ont passé la journée du vendredi 2 juin, à Paris, sur le thème de l’art et de l’architecture. Ils ont d’abord visité la cité de l’architecture au Trocadéro. Puis, après un pique-nique face à la Tour Eiffel, ils ont ensuite embarqué sur un bateau-mouche pour découvrir les principaux monuments depuis la Seine. Les élèves ont ensuite visité le Musée d’Art moderne et les chefs-d’œuvre de Raoul Dufy (la gigantesque Fée Electricité), Matisse (La danse), Modigliani (Femme aux Yeux bleus), Soutine, Chagall, Delaunay ou de Christian Boltanski. Puis direction le cinéma « Le Grand Rex » dont la fresque a été peinte par René Mahé qui n’est autre que l’arrière-arrière-grand-père de notre élève Sofie Snyder (S4EN). Sofie a d’ailleurs réalisé une présentation de l’œuvre de son aïeul dans le cinéma.

As part of their French lessons, the 19 students in S4 L2 and L3, accompanied by Mme Le Gall and Mme L’Espérance, spent a day (Friday, June 2d) in Paris on the theme of art and architecture. First, they visited the Cité de l’Architecture at the Trocadéro. Then, after a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower, they boarded a bateau-mouche to discover the main monuments from the Seine. The pupils then visited the Museum of Modern Art, where they saw masterpieces by Raoul Dufy (the gigantic Electricity Fairy), Matisse (The Dance), Modigliani (Woman with Blue Eyes), Soutine, Chagall, Delaunay and Christian Boltanski. Then on to the Grand Rex cinema, whose fresco was painted by René Mahé, the great-great-grandfather of our student Sofie Snyder. Sofie gave a presentation of her grandfather’s work in the cinema.
