A Native Dutch-speaking Teacher for Secondary School to teach:   Dutch (mother tongue) to start in September 2026 / 4 periods per week (in situ or online)

The European School of Karlsruhe offers education to approx. 1000 pupils, in three linguistic sections (DE, EN, FR), from 3-18 years. We require a teacher of Dutch (mother tongue) in year 11 (S6) of the secondary school. Applicants must have a Degree, PGCE or equivalent qualification for teaching Dutch mother tongue (Language 1) in the Baccalaureate cycle (classes S6 and S7 / year 11 and 12) and be a native Dutch speaker. Experience in an international or European school would be an advantage. The position involves 4 periods of teaching (1 period = 45 minutes) which may take place either in situ or online and is a fixed term contract for 1-2 years from September 2026.

The successful candidate will be working under the authority of the Director of the European School, in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment, in a school with an outstanding academic record. The European Schools are official educational establishments controlled jointly by the governments of the Member States of the European Union. In all these countries they are legally regarded as public institutions. There are currently 13 European Schools in 6 countries.
