Kangaroo Maths competition

On Thursday, 19 March, volunteer students from the secondary school had the pleasure of taking part in the Känguru der Mathematik, an international mathematics competition aimed at fostering students’ interest in the subject.

Introduced in Germany in 1995, the competition takes place every year in March and consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire with 24 to 30 questions of increasing difficulty, depending on the participants’ level. Students have 75 minutes to solve the problems without a calculator, encouraging logical reasoning, critical thinking, and creativity.

This year, the competition took place in periods P1 and P2 for S2 students, and in periods P8 and P9 for S1 as well as S3 to S7 students. Around one hundred students enthusiastically took on the challenge, demonstrating a strong commitment to mathematics within our school.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Parents’ Association, which once again supported this initiative by covering the registration fees, allowing as many students as possible to participate.

The results will be announced soon, and we look forward to celebrating our students’ achievements. In the meantime, congratulations to all participants for their motivation and enthusiasm!
