India Project

On April 23, the “India Project” took place for the first time, in connection with the Indian Festival held on Saturday, April 25.

There are nearly 80 Indian students at our European School, and the aim of this project is to give them the opportunity to present aspects of their country’s culture as well as enabling non-Indian students to participate, deepen their knowledge thus allowing everyone to discover this rich heritage. A dynamic group created an exhibition and presented it during the “small break” on the 23rd in the Oberschule hall.

The exhibition highlighted Tamil Nadu, a famous state in southern India. One student also created drawings showcasing styles of classical Indian dance. On Saturday the 25th, the exhibition was moved to the European Dialogue Center, where the Deutsche-Indische Gesellschaft enriched it with various objects representing the culture of Tamil Nadu, including magnificent gold-thread saris.

The exhibition was then transferred to the Primary and will return to the Secondary school in a few weeks. Many thanks to all the participating students, as well as their parents, who also contributed greatly to the success of this first edition!
