School Day

Kindergarten has the same school hours as the lower Primary School

Monday, Wednesday, Friday (‘short days’): 8:05 – 12:15

Tuesday, Thursday (‘long days’): 8:05 – 3:35

Early morning supervision is provided for the Kindergarten children by members of the KG team from 7.45 each school day. Weather permitting, children will be supervised from this time in the garden area. During the winter months or on inclement days supervision will be in your child’s classroom. Please use the Kindergarten entrance (up until 8.15) when bringing your child to school each morning.

Please note that there is no supervision prior to 7.45 and so, for safety and insurance reasons, children must not be dropped off before this time.

The Kindergarten day begins at 8:05. This is the time at which your child’s school day begins. It is essential that your child is in school on time in order not to miss the first teaching points of the day which begin at 8:15.

The KG entrance will be closed at 8:15. This is in order to avoid disruption to the children’s learning. If you do have to arrive after 8:15 please access the Kindergarten via the school’s main entrance (Blue Security Gate).

On ‘long days’ children have lunch in their classroom from 11:35 until 12:15, this may be either a packed lunch or canteen food.
During the school day children are provided with a variety of learning experiences (both within their own classrooms and the shared areas) in order to develop their creative, social, physical, language and mathematical skills as well as their understanding of the world around them. They also have many opportunities to interact with children from the other language sections during Sport, European Hours and ‘Outside’ time.
Your child’s class teacher will be able to provide you with more detailed information regarding the class routine and timetable.
